Our commitment

Freedom Ridge Veterans Resource Center is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance status

This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

Measures we take

  • Semantic HTML landmarks and a logical heading structure on every page.
  • A visible skip-to-content link for keyboard users.
  • Full keyboard operability, with a clearly visible focus indicator on all interactive elements.
  • Color contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG AA ratios in both light and dark themes.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images and icons; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
  • Form fields with clear labels, helpful hints, and error messages that do not rely on color alone.
  • Respect for the "reduce motion" setting, which calms or disables animation.
  • Responsive layouts that reflow to a single column and support zoom up to 200 percent.
  • A Spanish-language version of every page, with a language switcher in the site header.

Compatibility

This site is designed to work with recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari) and with common assistive technologies, including screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
