Dry Eye Treatment

Dry eye is one of the most common reasons people see an optometrist. Long screen days, contact lenses, hormonal changes, and some medications all reduce the quality of the tear film.

Close-up of a green eye

We find the cause before recommending treatment. For most patients that means evaluating the oil glands along the eyelids, which are behind the majority of dry eye cases.

What to expect

  1. Tear film analysis

We measure tear break-up time and tear volume, and image the meibomian glands.

  2. Personal treatment plan

Treatment may include prescription drops, lid hygiene, warm compress therapy, or punctal plugs.

  3. Follow-up

We re-measure at follow-up visits to confirm what's working.

Who it's for

  • Eyes that burn, sting, or feel gritty
  • Vision that blurs during screen work and clears with blinking
  • Contact lens wearers with end-of-day discomfort
  • Watery eyes (often a sign of dry eye)
